I was frustrated with my professional role at the beginning of my career, and I wasn’t confident regarding my technical skills. Just 6 months after I engaged with the MSc in Mobile and Web Computing, the International Hellenic University provided me with the mentality and the tools to pursue a new role I wanted. The Faculty of Humanities (particularly the MA in Macedonia) and the administrative staff were extremely supportive during my time at the University. They were highly professional and ensured that I had the best advice possible in order to have a successful Ph.D application. Furthermore, they ensured that I always had access to hands-on excavation and lab experience despite my lack of proficiency in the Greek language and guided me whenever I needed assistance during the process.
Spyros Charalampidis, Greece
The International Hellenic University provides important learning and training opportunities. First of all, MA students have the opportunity to be specialised in interesting and research promising fields, such as the Archaeology and History of ancient Macedonia and of the region of the Black Sea. Personally, as an MA student in the Classical Archaeology and the Ancient History of Macedonia, I had the advantage to improve my methodological skills in research and to acquire deeper knowledge of my discipline. Moreover, since the classes are taught in English, all students, who are not native English-speakers, are trained to fluently speak, write and present their work in this international language, something which is very important for a scientist. Plus, people from different places of the globe, during studying in the International Hellenic University, have the opportunity to cooperate, share ideas with each other and make friendships. The university’s excavation, on the other hand, is valuable because it provides the students with the chance to come in touch with an important source for the field of Humanities, the archaeological data. Archaeologists, also, can put into practice what they have theoretically learnt in classes. In addition, I believe that the excavation in Neo Rysio is important for the Historical and archaeological research since it can provide information concerning the human activity in the area of the Thermaic Gulf before and during the period of the expansion of the Macedonian Kingdom towards these regions. That is because the evidence about the populations which were active during this era, namely the Early Iron Age and the Early Archaic Age, is still scarce. Last but not least, as it concerns my studies, I owe a debt of gratitude to the professors and the staff of the university who willingly helped in every mater related to the university and my research. So, taking everything into account, I would suggest the International Hellenic University to young Archaeologists and Historians for MA studies.
Sheanna Murray, India
During my master’s degree I gained a considerable amount of knowledge in the history and archaeology of ancient Macedonia and, also, improved my research skills. Owing to this background, I was selected as a doctoral student at the Sapienza University of Rome to continue my research in Macedonian history. The amount of help I received from the faculty throughout my studies in IHU is one of the main reasons I feel confident enough to continue my research in the same field.
Tasha Pinkney, New Zealand
I decided to undertake my masters in Thessaloniki instead of locally because of the practical element of the course as well as undertaking study in such a historically rich place. I was amazed by how near and accessible objects and places of value were in Thessaloniki. This not only renewed my love of the Classical world but enhanced my educational experiences thoroughly. The hands-on excavation, cataloguing and site visits undertaken during my degree, as well as the passion and drive of my teachers and supervisors, brought an element to the subject that simply could not have been achieved in New Zealand. I now hope to take this knowledge into my future studies, possibly into a PhD, or into my work with the artefacts held within collections in New Zealand.
Christos Vasilas, Greece
Having finished the MA program in the Classical Archeology and the Ancient History of Macedonia I can undoubtedly tell that it was a very worthy choice that helped me to enhance my knowledge and my abilities in archaeology. More specifically the level of studies is very high, since many high-qualified Professors from Greece and abroad teach in the program. The fact that the courses are exclusively taught in English certainly helped me to improve my knowledge of the language. Moreover, of equal importance was the coexistence with students from different countries with whom I had the opportunity to exchange opinions and broaden my horizons. Finally, the university’s excavation at Neo Rysio in which I participated for three seasons is very interesting, while it offered me the chance to take part in a new excavation with many interesting finds. In combination with the cataloguing of the finds that takes place throughout the year someone can have a better understanding of the finds and the excavation in general and finally improve his professional abilities.

I recently completed my MSc in Banking and Finance at the International Hellenic University. The IHU is an institution that brings together cultures from all around the world. This multicultural environment has broadened my horizons and really changed my view about various things. During my studies, I also appreciated being taught by professors with real-world experience, ready to equip us to confront real situations in our future careers. All courses were well-structured while the different methods of assessment ensured that they were both challenging and purposeful.
In addition, the IHU is an institution committed to academic excellence via investing in tools for research such as databases and special seminars. The contribution of the IHU Career Office in developing one’s talents is also admirable. Careers Office activities and seminars gave me the opportunity to gain instruction from professionals on developing my communication and analytical thinking skills.
My advice to prospective students is that the International Hellenic University is definitely the right choice for further education, as long as quality education is your preference.

When the opportunity arose to join the Executive MBA program at International Hellenic University I seized upon it as a great way to further my education, an opportunity that would not only provide me with the qualifications but also with the knowledge to excel professionally and personally in any demanding position.
To date, the program has been intense and demanding, yet rewarding. Even though the program is challenging it is also flexible; the modular structure enables me to apply what I learnt immediately.
The professors I met in the EMBA program so far were exceptional, able to push me and my classmates beyond the boundaries of our traditional thought process and guide us through a wide variety of challenging and exciting business topics, appropriate to be applied in my career.
The members of my class come from a wide range of countries and backgrounds; this makes for interesting discussions and lively debates and teaches you that there is always more than one side to an issue. Without a doubt, the EMBA program at IHU is a top quality experience in every aspect.

Deciding about a master’s program in just two weeks would seem like a rushed decision to everyone. However, now, one year into the program, I can firmly state that it was one of the most worthy decisions I could make about my post-graduate education. The rigor and diversity of the subjects I have learned so far, coupled with the passion for academic excellence of world-renowned lecturers have helped me through personal paradigm shifts, which have changed my vision about my role not only in the organization I work for, but also in society as a whole.
As a banking lawyer by profession, thanks to finance and economics classes, I have gained skills and abilities that have enhanced my understanding of complex inter-disciplinary issues in my job, such as finding solutions to mitigate legal and financial risks at the same time

(MSc in Management), Greece
Sofia Zempiliadou
After taking my first degree in social sciences, which was a programme of study general in nature, and after working as a sales manager, I decided I wanted to specialize in management and also combine it with the opportunity to enhance my English language skills.
Learning to study at the International Hellenic University at the age of 22 was a bit of a challenge at first as I had to deal with both a new subject that I had not studied before and the difficulty of the foreign language. However, the staff was very friendly and helpful, willing to inform me about the courses and how I could use important resources such as the library and the computer systems.
The reason that attracted me most to the IHU was not only the facilities that provide plenty of space for studying and spending our time pleasantly, but the opportunity to get in touch and cooperate with people from different countries and origins and all these in my country!
There is no doubt that I have become more confident and more successful in my efforts related to business science. It is a motivation for me to start my career as a professional individual ready to deal with any challenges I may face in the future.
Nikos Tsileponis
Nowadays, it is highly recommended that one put their money in investments of guaranteed return. Thus, it is my firm belief that joining the MSc in Banking and Finance of the International Hellenic University will prove to be a successful investment move.
First of all, studying at the International Hellenic University has given me opportunities to work alone and as a part of a team, realizing the importance of each case. Moreover, I learned to regard time management as a key to success, since it helped me very much to get high degrees and gain valuable experience from writing papers on time.
Apart from the academic gain from attending this university, I also had the chance to live in a diversified student community and come in contact with people from all around the world. I consider this among the most valuable experiences a person can obtain, since one gets the chance to widen one’s scope, become independent and fully develop one’s talents and abilities.
All in all, to my mind, getting a postgraduate degree in Banking and Finance will provide me with all the necessary tools for either claiming a workplace or going forward to the research field.

Being a part of the new unique programme Black Sea Cultural Studies is very exciting and responsible at the same time. One has to have enough ability, ambition and motivation to cope with all the requirements of the demanding MA, but the diversity of teaching methods and amazingly enthusiastic and helpful professors make the studying process extremely interesting and pleasant. I can say without any doubt that this year abroad is a brilliant learning experience for me!
(MSc in Energy Systems), Greece
Panagiotis Badras
After getting a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, it seemed important for me to complete a Master’s degree in Energy Systems. At IHU, I benefitted greatly from the education received by Professors who have extensive professional and academic experience, as well as from the practical case studies presented. I believe in a prosperous future, because IHU has given me the opportunity to do so.
Maja Petrovska
The structure of the programme including the strict start and end dates, the schedule and courses suited me best. This is one of the reasons I chose this Master’s programme. Moreover, I found interesting the fact that the course material is presented by more than one professors coming from different countries and having different backgrounds. The subjects are related to current trends and technologies which might be helpful in the future career of any student. I very much appreciate that we know the precise time by which we will finish these studies.
I used to say that at the University I feel like home! You can always find people to talk to and people who care for you. One feels one is always welcome there. The facilities are open all the time for use by the students. I believe that I have made the right decision coming to study at the International Hellenic University

After 10 years of professional experience as a Public Prosecutor, LLM courses in Transnational and European Commercial Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution at IHU have been extremely pushing my knowledge and awareness of contemporary and emerging legal procedures leading to the future of law science and legal practice not only in Europe but also worldwide.
Zana Govori
If you are looking for a multicultural and a top-notch public university, with innovative programmes prepared according to the market needs, with premises located in the beautiful and vibrant city of Thessaloniki, then IHU is the right institution for you. At IHU everything works flawlessly; correspondence is fast and adequate and there is no delay with any matter that might arise. IHU has a pool of lecturers who are worldwide renowned professionals and academics, and both the academic and the administrative staff is there to assist at any time. Furthermore, IHU has the well-established Career & Business Liaison Office which provides useful work-related information and many job opportunities. I have personally attended the LLM programme in Transnational and European Commercial Law, Mediation, Arbitration, and Energy Law and then I enrolled in MSc in Energy Law, Business, Regulation and Policy. I have gained a valuable knowledge from both the programmes and I am completely satisfied with the specialized MSc programme. Hence, I fully recommend this programme for anyone who is interested in the business and regulatory spheres of the energy field.
Christina - Matina Moma
I feel lucky that I was able to explore international law through IHU LLM program by attending lectures given by experts from all over the world in an excellent environment with great facilities in the most atmospheric city of Greece, Thessaloniki.
Vasiliki Pantelidou
Being a student of the International Hellenic University has been a privilege for me. The LLM gave me the opportunity to explore new dimensions of law through a global perspective.
The courses of the LLM and the highly skilled professors enhanced my knowledge and ability of understanding new legal fields.
Markos Chionos
Having graduated the Accounting & Finance department and working as a business consultant, I wanted to follow a special master that could lead me into the path of new sciences and knowledge.
In addition, my business experience has taught me that acting into the European and especially the International legal framework of commerce and business offers an added value to your career and strengthens your entrepreneurial skills and spirit overall.
That innovative IHU’s LLM, with the perfect mixture of lectures and practice delivered not only by professors, but by the guest lecturers as well, is precisely what someone thinking like me needs.
I won’t tell you that it an easy course. On the contrary, it is quite demanding. But believe me, it worth every second of it.
Maria Lykourioti
IHUs international reputation, innovation, diversification of student body, and excellent faculty have prepared me with a strong academic foundation and invaluable practical knowledge
Mona Schirmann
Take a look over the garden fence of domestic law and come to study the LL.M. in Transnational and European Commercial Law & Alternative Dispute Resolution. The program consists of a one of a kind combination of well selected courses provided by an excellent, extraordinary and well picked international academic staff. It is a real pleasure and a privilege to listen to those experts filling your mind with up-to-date knowledge about Transnational Commercial Law, European Economic Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution. I am very proud to be one of the first German students participating in this master program and I hope that many other students from all over the world will follow, as in my opinion every student who is thinking of doing postgraduate studies in the aforementioned areas of law should take this modern, unique and innovative program into consideration.
Apostolia Pispili (LLM in Transnational and European Commercial Law, Banking Law, Arbitration/Mediation)
After finishing my studies in Law, the opportunity to apply to IHU and attend this LLM program seemed rather challenging to me; the distinguished chosen professors, the combination of two rather promising educational fields and also the improvement of my English language skills seemed quite tempting motives to choose this LLM.
So far my choice hasn’t disappointed me at all. The opportunity to be taught by experts has not only broadened my knowledge but mostly my horizons. I was offered the opportunity to obtain knowledge I never expected to obtain in such a short period of time and therefore I’m able to look at the future with much more optimism.
Afrodiki Semkou
I consider this course a must-take. The opportunity to study law in an English-speaking University in my own country and meet top professors from around the world is an experience that I will long remember. Perhaps the best thing I can say about the course is that it has caused me to rethink where I want to be and what I want to be doing five years from now.
Aikaterini Stavrou
After having incorporated into its context a major number of international law experts mandated to indicate the legal, cultural and, inevitably, economic considerations upon the issue of the globalized art market, this challenging and demanding postgraduate program has managed to build for us, i.e. its current international students, a unique and innovative vocation – specialization; a specialization based on the different perspectives arisen with regard to the crucial issue of art as creation, ownership and transactions.
Foteini Markou
After 11 years of hands-on legal expertise, one becomes moderately introverted, as horizons tend to narrow down focusing solely on the area of law you selected or was “forced” into.
After finishing my MSc in Energy Law Regulation and Policy in 2018 at the International Hellenic University I forged my legal insight in a pioneering area, gaining knowledge similar to that gained by graduates of respected foreign Universities. Furthermore, I was offered the opportunity to interact with prominent professionals of the legal energy sector and created life-long friendships. A whole new world of infinite knowledge has opened to me ever since, in an organized environment, based on the Anglo-Saxon educational model, staffed by notable scientists, fully and wholeheartedly engaged in the University community. Thus, more than just a University, IHU has become a “new family” to me. I am honored to be a member of this community that offered me knowledge and whose values and aspirations I share.
Konstantinos Tsekos
The International Hellenic University is a great opportunity for students to broaden their knowledge beyond their field of studies in a very innovative and creative environment. Studying at the International Hellenic University not only makes one an expert professionally but also provides one with all the tools in order to become a successful entrepreneur. It is very important that there are Professors having different nationalities but with real world experience. Furthermore, the Academic Assistants are very helpful and they can assist with whatever is needed. Besides the good education, the multicultural environment is amazing and makes you think out of the box. Overall, this University is a doorway leading to many job opportunities with events and Career Fairs that bring students in contact with industry and with potential employers.
Dimitris Samaras

Not only were the professors excellent at explaining, making their courses attractive and understandable, but they also provide students with a practical overview and sharing of their expertise. This Master programme has given me the opportunity to develop my skills, not only in energy systems, but also on an interpersonal level as well as on an English speaking level. It prepared me for a role that involves a lot of responsibility and demands a high level of accuracy and time management. Finally, I have also developed my professional network through meeting guest speakers, teachers and classmates. I would strongly recommend the MSc in Energy Systems programme to anyone who wishes to broaden his/her knowledge in the renewable energy field!

The excellent professors coming from a widely diversified field gave us a complete overview of the different aspects related to energy systems. The interesting program together with the wonderful country of Greece formed the basics of a unforgettable experience.
Anna Psefteli
One of the positive aspects of this university and this master programme is that our professors do not only have a strong academic background, they also have a firm grasp of what is going on in the professional world and so we learn many things that cannot be found in text books. Furthermore, we are given the opportunity to attend many seminars organised by the university itself and go on interesting field trips related to our field of study. Overall I am satisfied with this programme and believe it is helping me build a stronger educational foundation.
Antora-Fani Dima
Studying at the International Hellenic University (IHU) was a very valuable experience. I was part of the beginning for the M.Sc. in Environmental Management & Sustainability, with enthusiastic professors and students from around the world. IHU is a university with a multidisciplinary approach and an international mindset. It not only powered me with knowledge but also prepared me to later compete in an international environment, with classes and deliverables in English. This stimulating academic environment and the invaluable support and guidance of Dr. Iosif Botetzagias formed a productive setting for preparing my thesis. The goal was to further our understanding of recycling in Greece and make an original scientific contribution to the subject, coupled with practical recommendations. Very happy to see the effort rewarded and our paper receiving the “2017 Award for Most Cited Paper” from the Resources, Conservation and Recycling (RCR) journal [Botetzagias, I., Dima, A. F., & Malesios, C. (2015). Extending the theory of planned behavior in the context of recycling: The role of moral norms and of demographic predictors. Resources, Conservation and Recycling, 95, 58-67].

International Hellenic University, specifically the School of Humanities, provided me with opportunities to expand my knowledge of history and archaeology that I otherwise would not have had access to. Through this program, I was able to learn from knowledgeable professors who closely work with the field under examination. I was able to explore the surrounding region and see the sites and material culture studied in class. Also, I was able to work hands on with the archaeological material from IHU’s excavation site. By being immersed in the history and archaeology of the area, I was able to achieve a greater understanding and appreciation for the area and to further my skills as an archaeologist. International Hellenic University provides unique opportunities to students from all around the world, whereby not only do you learn in the classroom, but also outside of the classroom.
Eleni Vakouftsi
My year at Thessaloniki as a student at International Hellenic University was great in many aspects including the quality of the suprvision that I received, the university facilities, the friendship of fellow students and staff, the intellectual challenges during the classes and the quality of life in Thessaloniki. The academic staff were extremely supportive and you can always go to speak with them if you have any questions or need extra support. In terms of student experience, I have enjoyed talking to students from various nations and developing friendships with them. Being in an international university is an experience I will never forgot.

It was one of the bests experience in my life. Before studies in this University I could not believe that it is possible to learn so many interesting and difficult things in one year. The time I have spent in Greece changed my life in a very good way and fulfilled my heart with a bit crazy but very warm Greek attitude. I am happy that here I met so many smart and educated people from all world with who I was able to discuss everything about life, experience and education.
Thanks to IHU!

Relationship with highly qualified professors and students from different countries enriched my qualities.
Stauros Christodoulou
My participation in the first postgraduate programme of the School of Humanities, enabled me to search an area which began to be explored in the recent years. The academic and administrative staff and certainly the technological equipment, have helped to fulfill my ambitions and I am glad that I will be one of the first graduate students of our department. Unreservely, i recommend this MA to those who are interested in studying something completely new and innovative.
