Dr. Paraskevas Koukaras

The Department of Science and Technology, at the International Hellenic University proclaimed Paraskevas Koukaras as its first Doctoral graduate, on November 24, 2021. Dr. Koukaras, supervised by the Dean of the School of Science and Technology Assoc. Prof. C. Tjortjis, completed his PhD on October 12, 2021, after successfully defending his doctoral thesis titled “Interdisciplinary data science methods using machine learning for enhanced knowledge acquisition”.

The seven-member examination committee unanimously awarded him a PhD with distinction. During his doctoral studies, Dr. Koukaras participated in various teaching and research activities and published his research contributions in 6 distinguished international journals, as well as conferences and book chapters.

After Dr. Koukaras took the oath of the Doctoral graduate, Vice-Rector Prof. S. Aggelopoulos stated:

The Dean of the School of Science and Technology Assoc. Prof. C. Tjortjis thanked the Vice-Rector for all the support and wished Dr Koukaras every success while being always a source of pride and inspiration for the School.
