ANY USE MADE OF THE INTERNET SITE OF THE INTERNATIONAL HELLENIC UNIVERSITY INDICATES THE USER’S AGREEMENT TO AND ACCEPTANCE OF THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE.

Ι. GENERAL

The content made available for downloading from this site, including but not limited to processed, classified, encoded or otherwise texts, informational material, briefings, announcements, press releases and newsletters, photographic material, graphics, images, sound recordings, etc., as new work is copyright protected and the intellectual property of the International Hellenic University. The layout of each page, the appearance of the content and titles also comprise intellectual property of the University.

II. CONTENT

ΙΙ.1. The material, which is displayed on this site in good faith, may only be used for informational, research and advisory purposes.

ΙΙ.2. The International Hellenic University makes no express or implied warranties to the user with respect to the accuracy or completeness or the availability of the content, pages, services, options, invitations, tenders or their outcome. Consequently, visitors to/users of the site, making use of its services at their own initiative, undertake the respective responsibility to cross-check the information provided with the equivalent sources as they see fit.

The International Hellenic University furthermore provides no warranty that the pages, services, options and in general the content of its site will be provided continuously and without errors or that any mistakes will be corrected. Moreover, the University provides no warranty or assurance to the user with respect to the security of its website or any website to which it links or of the servers through which these are made available to the users or that they are free of viruses or other harmful components. The cost of any correction or repair arising is the sole responsibility of the user and no claim can be brought in this respect against the University.

The content and information contained on the website of the International Hellenic University can in no case be perceived as scientific, legal or any other kind of advice or recommendation to take any action, or as concealing any recommendation to a company or other organisation to take specific action or decline thereof.

The University has no control over the existing status and function, availability, content, terms of use, protection of personal data policy, quality and completeness of the services and information of other webpages to which it may provide links directly or indirectly. Consequently, for any problem arising from their use, the visitor/user should address the corresponding websites and their providers directly with respect to the information they provide. The International Hellenic University expressly states that in no case should it be perceived that it adopts, identifies with or in general accepts the content, the information material or the services of the websites or the providers of the same to which this site may link or be connected in any way.

III. MODIFICATION OF THE TERMS OF USE

The UHU reserves the right to modify any or all of the terms and conditions of use at any time without prior notice. Such changes and modifications shall be effective immediately upon their publication on this website. The user should regularly consult the terms and conditions of use valid at any time. Any use of this webpage on his/her part following the modification of any term shall be deemed to constitute tacit acceptance on his/her part of the terms of use holding at that time.

IV. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

THE REPRODUCTION OF WHOLE OR PART OF THE CONTENT OF THIS WEBSITE, AS DISPLAYED AND INCLUDED AT ANY TIME AT THIS WEB ADDRESS, ITS INCORPORATION OR COPYING INTO ANY MATERIAL, IN ANY WAY (PHOTOCOPY, ELECTRONIC, TRANSFER ON HARD DISC, CREATION OF A NEW WEBPAGE OR ANY OTHER WAY) WITH THE INTENTION OF ATTRACTING OTHER USERS (INTERNET OR INTRANET) AND THE COMMERCIAL USE OF ELEMENTS ON THIS WEBSITE WITHOUT THE PRIOR WRITTEN PERMISSION OF THE IHU ARE EXPRESSLY FORBIDDEN, AS IS THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE CONTENT FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSES.

V. ELECTRONIC ACCESS TO DATABASES (Web Site Licensing)

Licence to use content is granted solely for informational, research and consultational purposes. Licence to access the IHU website electronically and use its content is granted free of charge under the terms and conditions set forth in this notice.

VI. PROTECTION OF THIRD PARTY INTELLECTUAL RIGHTS

The International Hellenic University shall take all necessary action to acquire the legal licence to use and publish any material included on the website which is the intellectual property of another physical or legal entity.

The IHU shall not be liable for any infringement of the rights of any third parties in the case of the publication or display on the webpage by another party of content which is the intellectual property of others.

Holders of intellectual property rights, however, may contact the International University directly in this regard to ensure that the necessary measures are taken, including the prompt removal from the site of respective material for which the rights holder refuses to grant licence for their specific use or appropriate reference to the name of the creator of the respective material.

Products, services, studies and in general any information given on the IHU website which bear the logo, trade mark, electronic or otherwise signature or other specific characteristic of organisations, legal or physical entities, companies, in general partner institutions and/or publishers constitute their intellectual property and the International university bears no responsibility for the same.

VII. PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

Information collected in the course of the normal use of the website and in cases when users contact the IHU is confidential and shall be subject to processing only for reasons concerning improvements in website administration, better technical support and for statistical purposes regarding website traffic and usability.

Visitors to the website understand and acknowledge that the information they provide during their visit to the IHU site is collected and controlled by the IHU, are recorded and used for statistical purposes, for the purpose of determining optimal promotional strategies and for information on the areas of most interest to website visitors.

The IHU declares that, in compliance with legislation regarding the protection of personal data, it will safeguard the above information and will not release it, in part or whole, to any third party, that the storage of data is in accordance with Law 2472/1997, as applicable, and in general with current Greek and European legislation regarding the protection of personal data. It also declares that an officer responsible for processing the data has been appointed, in accordance with Article 11, L. 2472/1997.

The IHU collects the following personal data:

• Contact Form To make use of the information services of the IHU, the user is asked for certain information, as recorded on each registration and contact form. User details shall not be made known to third parties.
• Cookies The University may use cookies for the recognition of visitors to / users of certain IHU services and pages (e.g., newsletters). The cookies are small text files that are saved on the hard disk of the visitor/user; they provide to access to or knowledge of any document or file on said computer. They are used to facilitate access by the visitor/user with respect to use of certain IHU services, for statistical purposes so as to determine the areas in which IHU services are useful or popular or for marketing purposes. The visitor/user may set his/her server to notify him/her of the use of cookies on certain IHU services or to prevent the use of cookies in any instance. If the visitor/user of certain services and pages of the IHU does not allow the use of cookies for his/her recognition, he/she will not have further access to those services.
• IP Address The IP address through which the PC of the user or visitor accesses the internet and the IHU site is used exclusively for the collection of statistical data.

VIII. DISCLAIMER

The IHU hereby declares explicitly and, in using or surfing the IHU website, the user accepts that all material on the website is intended solely for informational purposes, and that any commercial exploitation of the same is hereby prohibited. All content is displayed “as is” and “as available” with no guarantee regarding its continued validity, the completeness of the information, its proper updating, online publication or otherwise. Any information or data which the user may obtain from the website shall only become binding on the International University when the user requests and receives written confirmation of the same from the University.

The International Hellenic University extends no warranty to users that the pages, services, choices and content will be provided without interruption, without errors and that mistakes will be corrected. Moreover, the IHU makes no warranty that its website or any webpages or servers through which the latter are made available to visitors/users are provided free of viruses or other damaging components. The University under no circumstances warrants the accuracy, completeness or availability of content, pages, services, choices or their results.

IX. LINKS WITH THIRD PARTY WEBSITES

Where the IHU site contains links to other sites and resources provided by third parties, these are intended solely to facilitate the user. They allow the user to leave the IHU site and access other linked webpages which, however, are not under the control and responsibility of the IHU and links to which do not imply endorsement in any way.

For this reason, no responsibility is borne by the IHU regarding the quality and validity of the content of any of the linked internet addresses of third parties.

X. APPLICABLE LAW – JURISDICTION

Any dispute, controversy or demand arising from or related to use of the site and the present Terms of Use shall be governed and construed in accordance with Greek law, EU law and respective international treaties. The Thessaloniki Law Courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction over the resolution of any such dispute.

XI. LIMITATION OF RESPONSIBILITY

The IHU shall not be liable for any damages, direct or indirect, incidental or consequential, cost or loss, loss associated with bad faith, lost profit, indemnification for non-material damage or mental distress in general or for any damage that may arise in any manner due to mistakes, deficiencies, omissions or loss of data during transmission or use of the present website. The IHU shall neither be liable in the case of culpability arising from or relating to the correct usage or operation and transmission of information provided.
